Real value for money

We are proud to be able to bring a very simple and low fee structure that puts everyone on the same level. We sell prepaid lead credits which never lose value, and remain in stock for you until you use them. About me

I have been in the building industry since I did my trade as a Carpenter/Joiner in Central Queensland back in the late seventies. I have been in the glazing industry but specializing in stained glass and leadlights for 30 years. I’ve said goodbye to many a dollar through ineffective advertising, and I know how much it hurts.

I started to create this system back in 1999 after experiencing the frustration of trying to find suppliers for a couple of different jobs around the house that had to be done. Even though back then the phone book and the local paper seemed to be the way to advertise, it was difficult to find someone who wanted to do the jobs, or to even find someone who could. Even looking through old business cards that I had collected in the past, I found that phone numbers had changed, businesses no longer existed and the list of problems continued.

So I thought, How much easier it would be if I could just describe to someone the job I wanted done and they could find a few businesses that would be keen enough to contact me about it? It would free up my time to do more important things, and I would have capable operators ringing me begging me for the job so they could make more money. I’d also have the choice of who I wanted to do the job.

At the time there was no one that would do that, unless I had a secretary do it for me, it was no good just sitting back waiting for someone else to think of it, so I set about to design a cost effective way of matching buyers with suppliers using the latest in technology.

True story

I went shopping for some shoes the other day, and I took note of the customer service at each store I visited. I was in my older work clothes, so I wasn’t the easiest on the eye, and I didn’t look like I was ready to spend money. Three out of the four shops that I visited let me look without interruption to the point where I’m sure I looked like I needed help, but there was none on offer, I just stood looking and ended up walking out; and it wasn’t because they were serving other customers. The fourth shop assistant was very helpful and I wouldn’t mind poaching her as an up front person for my business, so I did end up buying a pair of shoes from that shop.

What is the lesson I learned from that?

Even if I didn’t buy shoes from that shop that day, it would be the first shop I go back to for a pair of shoes in the future. I was left with a positive feeling that they wanted me as a customer not just for this time but forever. Attitude is vital. We want to bring customers to shops that have a positive attitude. Businesses that are interested in people, not just the dollar signs. The money will follow. People will spend where they are comfortable, and where they don’t feel threatened in any way by ignorance or an uncaring attitude.
